It was in “2005", that Dr. Raja, M.D. made a pioneering endeavor by launching “St. Joseph Medical Clinic”, in Vacherie, LA.

St. Joseph Medical Clinic is a licensed facility in the state of Louisiana. It has met all requirements and regulations from the federal and state governments. Policies and procedures are kept updated and in order to ensure the safety and well being of treatment to its patients. Annual inspections from the Department of Health and Hospitals, Board of Health and the State Fire Marshall are performed in order to renew its license.

A committee was formed to review and establish new policies and procedures for the need and growth of the clinic. The medical director is also in charge of overseeing the clinics activities.This has allowed St. Joseph Medical Clinic by far, in surpassing the expectations of being one of the best Quality Healthcare Facilities in the state.

St. Joseph Medical Clinic is an 8,000 square foot facility located on Hwy 20 in Vacherie. It consists of twelve Exam rooms, X-ray room and Emergency room. Its services are supported by sophisticated technology and experienced medical professionals.

All medical professionals in the clinic are “Board Certified” in their specialty with years of experience and education.

In 2003, Dr. Raja M.D. joined the established medical practice of Dr. Dirk M. Ory, M.D.., APMC, located in a very rural community of St. James Parish. Dr. Raja M.D. had a vision that in order to provide better services the medical needs of the community, he must expand the practice.

In 2005, the clinics’ name was changed to “St. Joseph Medical Clinic”. Because of its location, the clinic qualified to become a Rural Health Clinic for the community, providing services to all ages, ranging from newborn to geriatrics. In order to treat the number of increasing patients in the clinic a nurse practitioner was also hired to treat patients and provide KIDMED screenings and immunizations to the undeserved population.

In 2007, because of increased patient volume, there was a demand for different specialties. In order to accommodate the needed space construction began on a new clinic. In January 2008, the doors were opened to a brand new, state of the art, “St. Joseph Medical Clinic”.

The clinic now has four physicians specializing in: Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Pediatrics and Chiropractic. It also employees a Physician Assistant, two Registered Nurses and seven staff members.
